Subject: Community Services Block Grant Scholarship application - July 18, 2008

The Community Services Block Grant Scholarship program provides financial assistance for low-income students enrolled in secondary education programs. The Chicago Department of Human Services is currently accepting applications for the 2008/2009 school year.

Students enrolled in an Illinois college, university or vocational training program by September 8, 2008, may qualify for a scholarship. Recipients must have primary residence in Chicago and meet established income guidelines.

Average scholarships range from $600 to $2,000. Funds may be applied to tuition, uniforms, fees related to study and book costs.

Application deadline is: July 18, 2008 by 5:00 pm (see application for more detailed information).
